Let's introduce a pair a brothers: Orville and Wilburg Wright.
They invented, built and flew the World's first succesfull motor operated airplane.
They patented their flying machine on the 22nd May, 1906.
Ok. we CAN fly, but this machine is still quite unreliable.
Lets go to 1927.
Urte honetako maiatzaren 20an Charles Lindbergh izeneko piloto estatubatuarra New York hiritik bera bakarrik aireratu zen Spirit of St. Louis izeneko hegazkinean Atlantiko Ozeanoaren gainetik hegan joateko Paris hiriraino inolako eskalarik egin gabe.
Haren hegaldiak 33 ordu eta 32 minutu iraundu zuen.
Y el 20 de mayo de 1932, exactamente 5 años después de Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart emula y mejora la hazaña, convirtiéndose en la primera mujer en realizar un vuelo trasatlántico en solitario desde Canadá hasta Irlanda. Completó la travesía en 14 horas y 56 minutos.
Ella quería llegar a París, como Lindbergh, pero las condiciones le hicieron tomar tierra en un prado de Irlanda.
Imaginaos el susto que se llevó el campesino que estaba faenando por allí cuando, literalmente, le cayó un avión encima...
